ARTICLE 1- The demonstration
o The Jean-François Bernard is a mass cycling event on public roads, organized under the aegis of UFOLEP by the Club Cycliste Corbigeois. It will take place on Sunday September 1, 2024 and will offer 3 routes departing from CORBIGNY (Nièvre). Event counting towards the 2024 Passion Trophy. (Rules | Passion Trophy (tropheepassion.com)
o Only the cyclosport courses will be timed: the Jean-François Bernard, the Jeff and the 3 valleys. The randovelo course is not timed and has no classification.
ARTICLE 2 – Acceptance of risks
The “Jean-François Bernard” (136 km/departure 9 a.m.), the “Jeff” (95 km/departure 9:15 a.m.) and “the 3 valleys” (77 km/departure 9:15 a.m.) are not competitions. Any accident due to carelessness will result in individual liability. When registering, any participant acknowledges having read these regulations as well as those of the French Cycling Federation, accepts the clauses in their entirety and accepts the normal and frequent risks linked to cycling, such as individual or collective falls.
o In all circumstances, throughout the entire course, participants will adopt environmentally friendly behavior and demonstrate sportsmanship. The organization cannot be held responsible for any damage linked to the above risks.

ARTICLE 3 – Participation
o Cyclosportive events are open to everyone, adults, licensees with a license issued by a federation authorizing the practice of competitive cycling (FFC, UFOLEP, FSGT, FF Tri, FF Handisport), and not licensed.
o A medical certificate of fitness for competitive cycling less than one year old is mandatory for non-licensed participants.
o Cycle tourism (FFCT) and disabled sports (FFH) licenses (having not had their license application validated by a doctor) are not sufficient for the practice of cyclosport. Licensees of these 2 federations, as well as non-licensees, are required to provide a medical certificate of no contraindication or aptitude for the practice of competitive cycling, of less one year.
o The courses, apart from the Jean-François Bernard (136 km) are open to minor participants aged 15 to 17 for the courses according to the following specific provisions:
• Upon presentation of parental authorization to participate
• On the 77 km course for young people aged 15 and 16.
• On the 95 km course for young people aged 17

o “The Nivernais canal hike” hike open to everyone (minors over fourteen years old with parental consent). Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult traveling on the same route. Registration of a minor under the age of 15 must be done through an adult who will validate the registration file. Departure: 9:15 a.m.

ARTICLE 4 – Individual or group registration:
o Online primarily via the link on the website https://www.sportsnconnect.com/ registration deadline Saturday August 31 at 12 p.m.
o By post with the bulletin downloadable from our website: https://lajeanfrancoisbernard.fr/ PRICES: – UFOLEP/ /FFC licensee: 35 euros – Others: 37 euros – Single on site: 42 euros – Club from 5 committed : €2 discount. The above prices include the runner meal, the runner gift, assistance and security on the course and registration for the runner raffle. – Additional meal(s): 13 euros –
PLEASE NOTE: depending on the number of registrations, it is possible that those registered on site on Sunday morning will not benefit from the meal tray.

ARTICLE 5- Reimbursement
o Any request for reimbursement must be sent to the organizer, the latter will decide and reserve the right to refuse, he may also request one or more supporting documents if he deems it necessary.
o The facilities provided, particularly for showers, must be respected and used with respect for the environment.

ARTICLE 6 – Security
o The safety of participants and management takes precedence over everything else, the organization reserves the right to modify the reception conditions, to neutralize and/or modify one or more portions of one or more courses
o The roads of the Jean-François Bernard are open to traffic throughout the duration of the event. Participating in a mass event on public roads involves complying with the highway code and any prefectural and/or municipal decrees, using only the right part of the road and ensuring your own safety by adapting your speed. . In the event of an infraction of the highway code, the participant will be solely responsible for any accidents caused or suffered, and the organization reserves the right to exclude the violating rider.
o Following cars are prohibited, dangerous, disrespectful to other runners, and therefore undesirable. Any participant with a personal assistance vehicle surprised by a marshal will be disqualified.
o Security is ensured by the organization’s civilian bikers and marshals. Medical assistance is provided by doctors and first aiders.
o Wearing a “hard shell” helmet is mandatory.
o The use of non-UCI approved equipment is prohibited. In the event of use of said equipment, the participant is solely responsible for any accidents caused or suffered.
o Each competitor must bring their own repair equipment in the event of a mechanical incident or puncture and have a sufficient quantity of hydration and nutrition system. Refreshments and the arrival meal may change over the course of the day. He must have familiarized himself with the routes and the differences in altitude.
o Regarding the long “Jean-François Bernard” route, a time barrier based on an average of 20 km/h is in place at the Vauclaix crossroads (km 101). From 2:00 p.m., the security system will be lifted, the junction on the “three valleys” route is obligatory.
o The organization reserves the right to arrest any participant it judges to be the victim of a failure.
o Any participant is likely to undergo an anti-doping medical test in accordance with the legal provisions in force.

ARTICLE 7 – removal of plates
o The frame plates are awarded in the order of registrations and delivered with the roadmap from Saturday August 31 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 7:00 a.m. on the morning of the event.

o Departure from 9:00 a.m. rue Augenay (opposite Noël Berrier college) in CORBIGNY and arrival at the same place.
o Refreshments: Brassy and Croix Milan.
o The 136 km and 95 km courses count for the 2023 Passion Trophy


ARTICLE 8 – Rankings, diplomas and awards
o Participants in cyclosportifs are timed and ranked.
o The Jean-François Bernard is part of the Passion Trophy.
o The scratch podiums, female and male, on the three courses are rewarded.
o The first in each category are rewarded.
o The draw for the runner raffle is made during the handover protocol (which takes place at 3:00 p.m.). To claim their prize, the runner must be present at the time of the draw.
o Changes to route en route will automatically result in downgrading.

ARTICLE 9- Image rights
o Any registered runner expressly authorizes the organizer as well as his beneficiaries or assigns such as partners and media, to use the results, still and audio-visual images, on which he may appear during the event, on all media including promotional and advertising materials, worldwide for the longest period provided for by law, regulations or treaties.
o Any disagreement with this clause must be reported by post to the organization.
ARTICLE 10 – Insurance
o Civil liability: in accordance with current legislation, the organization has taken out insurance covering the financial consequences of its civil liability, those of their employees and all participants, for material or bodily damage that they could accidentally cause to third parties or talk to each other.
o The civil liability of participants is limited to accidents that they could cause to third parties during the course of the event. This guarantee will intervene in addition to or in the absence of other insurance from which participants could otherwise benefit.
o In accordance with the provisions of Article L. 321-4 of the Sports Code, the organization emphasizes the benefit of taking out a personal insurance contract covering bodily injury. It is up to the participants to guarantee themselves. Licensees must check with their federation that they are adequately covered for bodily injury incurred during their participation in the event.
o Neither the organization nor their insurer covers any damage that participants’ materials and equipment may suffer, particularly in the event of a fall or theft. It is everyone’s responsibility to protect themselves against this type of risk. Participants acknowledge the organization’s non-responsibility for monitoring personal property or objects in the event of loss or theft. Equipment or objects and bicycles given to third parties during the event will be the full responsibility of the person giving them.

ARTICLE 11- Modification, postponement or cancellation of the test
o If circumstances require it, and if the organization deems it so, the organizers reserve the right to modify at any time the routes, the position of the refreshments, the distances to be covered and/or modify the date and/or the times of the event.
o If the event is canceled due to force majeure or by prefectural decision for reasons not within the control of the organization, the latter is relieved of any recourse by those involved. No refunds will be made.
ARTICLE 12- CNIL
In accordance with current legislation, the participant has the right to access, rectify or oppose personal computerized data concerning him or her. These may be used, transferred, rented or exchanged, particularly for results and the press.
ARTICLE 13 – Acceptance of payment
Participation in the event of the “Jean-François Bernard” organization implies the express acceptance by each competitor of these regulations. Any interpretation or complaint concerning the event, the regulations or its application must be sent by post to the organization. In the event of a dispute over foreign translations, French regulations prevail. The organization reserves the right to make changes and update these regulations at any time.
